We’re excited to share the highlights of the last quarter report on the Sheep, Health, and Economic Empowerment Program (S.H.E.E.P.).
Program manager Joe Abobtey coordinated 3 public health workshops for community members, and a special in-school program for 200-300 students.
The workshop topics included diabetes, hypertension and menopause; and the in-school program focussed on personal hygiene and HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
Health education is especially important for improving health status in the communities where we operate S.H.E.E.P., as they are isolated from health care facilities. Prevention is key!
Sheep donated to beneficiary families also received biannual vaccinations in this quarter to keep them healthy for the dry season ahead.
